The best advice I ever received was to go to the studio every day to paint. Reserve one day (I choose Sunday) to go back to the studio and critique everything you’ve done that week.
Another helpful piece of advice is to measure the progress of your work from year to year and not painting to painting.
The bottom line is keep painting; make it a routine. Over time, you’ll see improvement.
