Watermedia artist Dean Mitchell of Tampa, Florida, received the Victor Higgins Award of Distinction for the best overall body of work presented at the Quest for the West® Art Show and Sale earlier this month. Held at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art in downtown Indianapolis, the show celebrates Western American art and artists. This year sales have topped $1 million and counting.
Quest artists voted on their fellow exhibitors’ work for the Artists’ Choice Award, resulting in an unprecedented five-way that included Mitchell’s “Monument Valley.”
The show will remain on view at the Eiteljorg through October 8, 2023 for the general public to enjoy before purchased works are shipped to their buyers.
