Meet Jeremiah Patterson, this week’s top American Watercolor Weekly Ambassador!
Jeremiah Patterson teaches painting and drawing as Professor of Foundations at the Hartford Art School, University of Hartford in West Hartford CT. His paintings and drawings have been exhibited widely throughout the United States, including six one-person shows at the Sherry French Gallery in New York City, and three biennial survey exhibitions of Contemporary Representational Art; Representing Representation V & VI at the Arnot Art Museum in Elmira NY, and Contemporary American Realism at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art in Fort Wayne IN. Most recently, Jeremiah was selected for two important international group watercolor exhibitions in Fabriano, Italy; as one of 56 watercolor artists worldwide to exhibit in the prestigious Biennial International Prize “Marche d’Acqua” Fabriano Watercolor 2020/21 and also the 2020 FabrianoinAquarello Exhibition. His work has also been included in over 90 group exhibitions throughout the United States including shows at the Arkansas Art Center Museum, Albright-Knox Art Museum, the Flint Museum of Art, The Connecticut River Museum, the Wisteriahurst Museum, the Ridderhof-Martin Museum at Mary Washington College, Westfield State College, Anna-Maria College, Elms College, Collin County Community College in Texas, M.A. Doran Gallery in Tulsa OK, Klaudia Marr Gallery in Santa Fe, NM, Elm Tree Gallery in Franklin TN, and William Baczek Fine Arts in Northampton, MA.
His work can be found in over 100 private and corporate collections including Art Overseas, Art & Interiors, Inc., Canson, Inc., Galman-Lepow Associates, Inc, and Norfolk Southern Co. Two major articles about his still life paintings have been published in the Spring 1997 & 2003 issues of WATERCOLOR Magazine, and a major article on his plein-air landscape watercolors was published in Plein Air Magazine.
