Carol Carter’s Favorite Watercolor Hack

This American Watercolor Weekly advisor shares a simple trick for creating the illusion of depth.

I lightly remove the small millimeter crisp edge of a wash after it dries before laying another shape of watercolor next to it. Removing the small edge creates more illusion of depth in the picture plane.
