Grade A Watercolors on Display in Georgia

The Bowen Center for the Arts in Dawsonville, Georgia, is hosting the Georgia Watercolor Society’s 40th National Exhibition through April 26, 2019. This annual exhibit consistently attracts top artists from around the country, with this year’s exhibiting artists representing 22 states.

Juror Paul Jackson awarded over $10,000 in cash and prizes, making the Georgia Watercolor Society National Exhibition one of the top awarding competitions in the country.

Here’s a look at a few of the paintings that took top prizes:

1st place – Jackie Dorsey for “Apathy & Good Books”

 

3rd place – David Stickel for “Classic Avignon”

 

5th place – Chris Krupinski for “Brandied Pears”

 

8th place – Lance Hunter for “Snow Melt”
