A Celebration of Watercolor

The American Watercolor Society celebrates another stellar lineup of artist’s works in their 156th International Exhibition, on view April 3 – 28, 2023, at the Salmagundi Club in New York City. The Jury of Selection included Antonio Masi (Chair), Judi Betts, Ken Call, Ken Goldman, and Eric Wiegardt. Choosing the prizewinning paintings were Susan Weintraub (Chair), Ratindra Das, and Denny Bond.

Here’s a peek at a few of the award winners:

Frank Webb Memorial Award: “Peavey Elevator” by Tim Oliver
Silver Award (2nd place): by Karen Knutson
Alden Bryan Memorial Medal: “High Street Umbrellas” by John Salminen

“Let’s Go for a Walk When the Rain Stops” (watercolor) by Jasmine Huang

The American Watercolor Society is a nonprofit membership organization that began in 1866 to promote the art of watercolor painting in America. Each year the Society holds a juried exhibition of watercolors from artists throughout the world.
