Ambassador of the Week: Jeff Stahler

Meet Jeff Stahler, this week’s top American Watercolor Weekly Ambassador!

‘City View Bar Last Call’ This plein air watercolor with gouache was done during an Ohio Plein Air Competition. Myself & two other plein air artists sat on the patio of the City View Tavern in Cincinnati at sunset, enjoying a beer, the view & painting. This was one of a couple paintings that I did that evening. (The other two artists with me that evening were Robin Roberts & Chris Leeper, both excellent artists & friends.)

I’m a graduate of The Columbus College of Art & Design, currently residing in the historic district of Columbus, Ohio, German Village.

‘Bobby Broom’ performing on the campus of Denison University, Granville, Ohio (I really enjoy music & I’m inspired to create after listening to a live performance)

I’m a syndicated editorial cartoonist & creator of the daily syndicated comic panel, ‘Moderately Confused’. My other love is watercolors & plein air painting. I spend a better part of my weekends painting, whether it’s outdoors or in my studio. I have rekindled this passion of plein air watercoloring and am enjoying the company of other artists with similar interests.

I’m an active member of the Ohio Watercolor Society & I sit on the board of the Ohio Plein Air Society & Central Ohio Watercolor Society. I’ve had a couple of solo exhibits & several group exhibits. My watercolors are represented by the Sharon Weiss Gallery/ 20 East Lincoln St., Columbus, Ohio (in the Short North district) (614) 291-5683.

My cartoons, both editorial & ‘Moderately Confused’ panel can be found, if not in your local newspaper, then at gocomics.com.
