“A common problem I see is painters sticking too literally to their reference photos; they become a slave to them,” says Lisa Wang. “I strongly believe that as artists we should be much more than just a camera.”
Playing warm tones against cool, the artist edited the photo below to create a cozy mood, depth, and greater visual contrast.
